Infrared heating is the latest and newest in technology to keeping your home or office warm.

Unlike Conventional heaters which warms the air around you and then eventually disappears, Infrared heating warms up humans, animals and the objects around you. It bounces surface to surface and keeping the heat within your home. 

Being a form of far radiant heating, the rays reach in more areas which gradually reduces cold spots within the room.


It's honestly quite simple! 

When people think of Infrared Radiation or Infrared Light they immediately have negative ideas or views about it. What is Infrared and how can it be converted into heat?

Everything in this universe gives off some form of IR (Infrared Radiation), the sun being one of the biggest sources of IR to everyday objects such as your T.V remote.

Taking this same idea and using advanced technology, we can safely get the same heat that we can get from the sun from an Infrared Heater. Using electricity to convert into INVISIBLE radiant heat that we absorb into our skin and then later it is emitted from your own body.

But how do you explain something we can’t see?

Infrared Light is completely invisible to the naked eye. Only certain animals such as fish, snakes and mosquitoes can see infrared and rely on this to feed.

Visible light is part of the electromagnetic spectrum we can only see is labelled as ‘visible light’. Everything else is invisible but we are very much aware that it’s there.

While Infrared is invisible to us humans, we can feel it in the form of heat. The Infrared range usually can be divided into 2 different ranges.

Near Infrared and Far Infrared. Both of these have different qualities that separate them from the other. 


Near Infrared

Halogen and Quartz bulbs are amazing examples of Near Infrared (also known as short Wave Infrared). These heaters warm up the surface quicker using higher frequency waves but shorter wave lengths.

Near infrared wavelengths have high temperatures because they have small wavelengths so the heat it gives out is extremely “transmissible”. This makes near infrared heaters a great option for outdoor areas such as: patio, gazebo, summer houses or conservatory. Outdoor heaters tend to use this technology as a way to provide heat that’s ‘on demand’. They have a higher level of heat on the surface.

Far Infrared

Far Infrared heaters are vastly energy-efficient with majority of the electricity used transferred into heat. In addition to this they work silently whilst emitting no light. Another benefit of using our far infrared heaters is that they are entirely maintenance free, contrary from the conventional central heating system. 

Far infrared is thermal radiation and is effortlessly absorbed by our skin. Our far infrared heaters use this as an advantage of the distinctive warming properties of this radiation. As soon as far infrared waves touch objects and surfaces in a room, thermal energy is released, heating the walls, floor and ceiling. Us humans absorb far infrared radiation remarkably well as our human bodies are made up of 80% of water which makes infrared waves act efficiently on this.   

A great example in which we humans experience far infrared radiation everyday is when we feel the heat from the sun and our bodies are warmed up, making us feel satisfied and energetic!  Far infrared heaters are a great solution if you don’t access to daily sunshine as it can help acquire several benefits of the sun.
